Gal Gadot: the New Wonder Woman ‘Batman v Superman'

The first image EVER of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ was revealed at Comic Con on July 26 — and fans are totally freaking out over it! From absolute awe to total admiration, fans are tweeting their early obsessions for this character.

Actress Gal Gadot,  29, has officially taken on the female superhero role — and now we have a visual of how she’ll do it! In the first official photo of the actress as Wonder Woman, we see the character in a bronze-colored, super-tight dress. She wears the iconic Wonder Woman headpiece, thigh-high boots and stands among volcanoes. After seeing the first image, do fans think Gal is right for the legendary role? Read on for ALL the fan reactions — both good and bad!

This is Gadot’s biggest role to date, the star is best known for playing Gisele Harabo in The Fast and the Furious films.

A brief teaser trailer from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was also shown at convention, giving the smallest of snippets to fans. In the short tease, Batman can be seen in a rainy Gotham turning on the Bat-Signal only to have Superman, with glowing red eyes, flying in the air blocking the light. It ends with both superheroes glaring menacingly at one another.
The film serves as a sequel to 2013’s Man of Steel and sees Ben Affleck as the caped crusader while Henry Cavill is reprising his role as Superman.
The film has a stellar cast, which includes American Hustle actress Amy Adams who will be playing Lois Lane, while The Social Network’s Jesse Eisenberg will be portraying the super villain Lex Luthor.
Jeremy Irons will be playing Bruce Wayne’s faithful butler Alfred and Laurence Fishburne will star as Perry White, the Editor of theDaily Planet.

Gadot is best known for her role as Gisele in the Fast and Furious series. She is an Israeli actress and model. It was confirmed that she was cast in the role of Wonder Woman back in early December, but now we know that the studio plans to use her for at least three films, which includes one solo film.
This could mean that they’ll be taking a shot at a standalone Wonder Woman film if the character is well received in Superman Vs Batman. Man of Steel’s sequel was recently delayed by 10 months, pushing the release date to May 6, 2016.
While a three picture deal is fairly normal in the superhero department, it does give us an idea of how big her role will be in Superman Vs Batman. The interview also revealed she was being paid $300,000 for her part in the first film, which sounds about right compared to what other first time superheroes have made. For reference, Chris Hemsworth made $200,000 for his first outing as Thor.
Ben Affleck, who has been cast as Batman in the film, recently discussed his role in the film and says that he was “won over” after some time discussing the character and film with Snyder and the film’s writer David S. Goyer.
Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman from 2013′s Man of SteelMan of Steel went on to garner fairly positive reviews and pulled in a worldwide total of $662 million.
Gal Gadot is a solid choice for Wonder Woman, as she has gained quite a lot of experience dealing with fighting sequences in the Fast and Furious franchise, as well as completing some substantial stunt work.
